Went skiing last night hoping for an aurora but the sky had clouded over.
We brought the camera in case it cleared while we were out. No such luck, but we still took some nice shots.

This is my favorite part of the trail. (About 30 minutes from our front door.)
In the summer it’s a bog. In the winter it’s a flat stretch of snow broken by stunted pines and surrounded by thick forest. On one side, lights from the city reflect on the belly of the clouds and the sky glows. On the other, the direction we ski toward, the sky is thick and dark and it looks like the end of the world.
